Talk by Andrey Timopheev at the NanoMag

18.03.2024

Dr. Andrey TImopheev will present his talk, title “Spintronics: fundamental, applied, industrial”, on Tuesday, April 2nd

Andrey Timopheev’s will be visiting our group in Vienna. Besides holding discussions with NanoMagners and touring our labs, he will hold a presentation of his research.

Andrey graduated from Dnipro National University with a Master's diploma in Microelectronics and semiconductor devices in 2003. He then defended his PhD degree in the field of Condensed Matter Physics — Magnetism at the Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in 2009. His thesis was focused on experimental studies and simulations of super-paramagnetic ensembles. In 2011, he moved to the University of Aveiro as a postdoctoral researcher, working on magnetoelectric composites, thin magnetic films and GMR multilayers. In 2014, he joined SPINTEC laboratory of CEA-Grenoble in a role of research engineer, collaborating with Samsung on research on STT-MRAM memory cells. Since 2017, he is a staff scientist in the French startup, Crocus Technology. His work was focused on design and advanced characterization of a TMR magnetic sensor.

In his talk, he will present some of his research on applications in the field of spintronics.
