Three NanoMag PhD students are awarded the VDSP Mobility Fellowship

16.03.2023

David Schmoll, Rostyslav Serha, and Andrey Voronov will be Mobility Fellows of the Vienna Doctoral School in Physics (VDSP)

This endorsement will enable them to communicate and discuss their research in the international science community, to acquire new skills and methods which are not part of their local training and to start new collaborations.

The VDSP offers support, training, mentoring and networking opportunities to young scientists at the Faculty of Physics on their way to a PhD in physics. After successfully presenting their thesis projects at the Faculty Open Hearings, the three NanoMagners have been selected for the Mobility Fellowship.

David Schmoll works under the supervision of Andrii Chumak and Sebastian Knauer on spin waves coupled to single photons in the visible regime at millikelvin temperatures.

Rostyslav Serha’s topic is quantum magnonics in paramagnetic and ferrimagnetic materials, with Andrii as supervisor.

Andrey Voronov is working with the guidance of Andrii and Claas Abert and focusing on magnon-based data processing.

We congratulate them for their great start of their PhD and wish them even more success in the future!
