This year’s Joint Annual Meeting of the Austrian Physical Society (ÖPG) and the Swiss Physical Society (SPS) in the Austrian city of Innsbruck was a great opportunity to exchange ideas, join scientific discussions and meet colleagues working in our research fields.
Many of the members of the NanoMag group were there to present exciting new research. Three of the talks were held in the field of condensed matter physics: Prof. Andrii Chumak presentation centered around the “Nano-scale magnonic directional coupler”, PD Dr. Oleksandr Dobrovolsky’s talk was titled “Cherenkov radiation of spin waves by ultra-fast-moving magnetic flux qubits” and Dr. Qi Wang gave a presentation on “Inverse-design magnonic devices“. The group was also represented in the field of quantum information and quantum computation by Dr. Sebastian Knauer’s talk “Experimental demonstration of a quantum model learning agent on the NV-centre platform”.
Moreover, the two PhD students of the group woking in the SuperSpin Lab took part in the poster presentations: Sebastian Lamb-Camarena with a poster on his research on “Spin waves in direct-write 3D nano-architectures” and Barbora Bundinská, who, with her poster titled “Beating speed limits for Abrikosov vortices in superconducting thin films via edge-barrier engineering”, won one of the Best Poster Awards at the Joint Annual Meeting 2021. Congratulations Barbora!
