Björn presentation in front of the examination committee was the final stage of a very fruitful pre-doctoral research career consisting of five papers as a first author, including one “equal contribution”, and 16 other publications where he appears as co-author.
His research, supervised by Prof. Chumak, constitutes a comprehensive study of the spin-wave dynamics in nano-sized yttrium iron garnet conduits with regard to their potential application in a magnon-based computation technology. This research was conducted in the frame of the ERC Starting Grant 678309 “MagnonCircuits”: Nano-scale magnonic circuits for novel computing systems.
We are really happy for the success of our fellow NanoMagner, whom we can now officially call Dr. Heinz!
Congratulations to Björn Heinz for his PhD!
