The NanoMag at the „Lange Nacht der Forschung“

27.05.2022

Our group presented basic concepts of magnetism and some of our projects during the “long night of research”, Austria’s largest science dissemination event.

On Friday, May 20th, lecture halls all over Austria were open to the public and scientists took the streets to show their work.  This nationwide event showcases all fields of research, from humanities to natural sciences, to the public in various forms: from lectures to experiments.

The NanoMag was present in this science-focused evening together with other research groups from the Faculty of Physics. In our booth, visitors could find a levitating train and ask our scientists about the research conducted in the field of superconductivity, magnetism, and magnonics. Both young and old stopped by to see the “magic” of magnetism and discover the science behind it!

We would like to thank everyone from the group, who spent their Friday evening making our research understandable to anyone. Moreover, many thanks to Christiane Maria Losert-Valiente Kroon, who coordinated the Faculty of Physics participation in this event and finally, Prof. Wolfgang Lang, who kindly lend us his group’s levitating train.
