Talk by Michal Urbánek at the NanoMag

22.10.2021

Dr. Urbánek will present his talk “Propagation, refraction and steering of spin waves in materials with locally controlled magnetic anisotropy” on Friday, October 29th. The talk will be live-streamed.

Michal Urbánek visit to our group in Vienna will include a talk in the frame of the Magnetism and Spintronics seminar. In this talk he will present his recent work on material systems allowing nanoscale spatial control of magnetic anisotropy.

Dr. Michal Urbánek is an expert in nanofabrication, Head of CEITEC Nano (Brno, Czech Republic), which is the largest open-access cleanroom nanofabrication and nanocharacterization facility in Central Europe. He is also Vice-chair of EuroNanoLab, a pan-European research infrastructure consisting of 44 cleanrooms in 14 countries. Beyond his management duties related to research infrastructures, Dr. Urbánek always kept close contact with basic and applied research. He is advancing research projects mainly in the field of magnetism, magnetic materials, magnetization dynamics and magnonics.
