Kristýna Davídková wins „Best Poster Award” at the 4th International Advanced School of Magnonics – MAGNETOFON

26.07.2022

The School was attended by many members of the NanoMag and the award was presented to Kristýna for her poster titled “Towards cryogenic measurements in thin-film YIG”.

For a week, the Portuguese city of Porto became the center of research on magnonics in Europe. The COST Action CA17123 sponsored 4th International Advanced School of Magnonics – MAGNETOFON is aimed both at new and experienced researcher in the fields of magnonics and ultrafast spin dynamics.

The NanoMag had a large representation at the School. As speakers, Andrii Chumak held an introductory lecture on computing with spin waves while Oleksandr Dobrovolskiy discussed about the new frontiers in magnon fluxonics. Our PhD students Sebastian Lamb-Camarena and Rostyslav Serha participated together with Kristýna Davídková, who won the best poster award.

Kristýna, who is doing an Erasmus + internship at the group and is studying her Master’s degree at CEITEC under the supervision of Michal Urbanek, presented her research with the poster “Towards cryogenic measurements in thin-film YIG”. During her stay in the group, Kris has used the NanoMag’s Cryolab for the first time ever measurement of spin-wave propagation in thin-film YIG at ultra-low temperatures.
