The Nanomagnetism and Magnonics Group at the University of Vienna has organized the delivery of material from the Faculty of Physics to colleagues at the Institute of Magnetism in the National Academy of Science of Ukraine (NASU). This consists of a set of scientific equipment for measuring the physical properties of materials and structures at cryogenic temperatures. The devices were kindly donated by Ass.-Prof. i. R. Mag. Dr. Franz Sachslehner and ao. Univ.-Prof. Mag. Dr. Erhard Schafler.
The transferred equipment includes cryostats, a cryogenic compressor, power supply and measurement units, as well as various supporting components. Although the system is not new, it remains fully functional and is expected to strengthen the experimental infrastructure significantly at the Institute of Magnetism, enabling advanced studies of materials and magnetic phenomena at low temperatures. Moreover, they will facilitate the teaching and training of Ukrainian scientists.
The transfer reflects the strong scientific ties between the two institutions and the shared commitment to supporting research development. The arrangement of the transfer was coordinated with the decisive contribution of Dr. Khrystyna Levchenko.
The NanoMag wishes the equipment a long and productive service and looks forward to continued scientific cooperation with colleagues at the Institute of Magnetism, who keep doing excellent research even in the terrible conditions emanating from Russia's war of aggression.
