In March 2020 the first NanoMag retreat took place in Semmering with five NanoMagners based in Vienna, TU Kaiserslautern colleagues and external collaborators. On September 22nd, 2021, 12 NanoMagners left Vienna early for two days of talks and workshops in the Sporthotel Semmering.

The first block of talks was centered around internal organizational issues, ranging form lab usage to the administrative life of the group. The rest of the two days were centered on presenting scientific input to the group, with the participation of all NanoMagners. During the second day there was time for more scientific discussions and on-line presentations by members from the TU Kaiserslautern.

On Friday in the morning the group left the hotel back to Vienna more united and motivated to tackle new scientific challenges!
